I was born in Amsterdam in 1953, my mother was a beautician and may father a medical general practitioner.
He had secretly made paintings which he destroyed, as I suppose he didn’t think them worthy of existence.
In 1977 I went to the Gerrit Rietveld Academie: department Jewelry.
These small objects filled with immaterial intrinsic value fascinated me. In 1981 I left school.
The Commission almost refused to give me my diploma (Total lack of talent was the verdict).
But Jan Elders the department Head than refused to go along with the opinion of the external committee.
In 1986 I had my first Solo show by Gallerie Louise Smit in Amsterdam.
Since then I have a more or less regular production of 25 to 40 Jewellery works a year. (an overview can be seen on Instagram under my name.)
